Calling a Child a Fetus Does Not Negate His Humanity

We use clinical language to distance ourselves from moral weight. Culture has taken a biological term—*fetus*, the Latin word for offspring—and weaponized it to strip away personhood. We are told that if we change the vocabulary, we can remove the humanity.

But changing the label does not change the reality. A heartbeat is a heartbeat. A unique genetic code is a unique genetic code. We do not get to dictate who qualifies as human based on their size, their level of development, or whether they are currently seen.

Calling a child a fetus to avoid the discomfort of what they truly are is a failure of both courage and truth. It reduces a divine creation to a medical condition. It treats a living, growing human being as disposable material simply because they are temporarily hidden and completely defenseless.

God does not measure worth by a timeline or a location. He does not wait for a birth certificate to recognize the soul He handcrafted in the dark. You cannot edit out the sanctity of life by hiding behind clinical terminology.

The unborn are not merely potential humans; they are humans with potential.
