The Arrogance of Endless Doubt

We live in an age that glorifies skepticism as the ultimate intellectual virtue. "Question everything," we are told. Deconstruct your faith, challenge every boundary, and never let anyone tell you what is true. We are warned not to be "sheep," blindly following authority.

But this modern brand of endless questioning isn't actually a pursuit of truth; it’s an allergy to submission. When you decide that every truth is subjective and every institution is a lie, you don’t become an enlightened free-thinker. You become a cynic stranded in an empty room, trusting nothing but your own flawed, shifting emotions.

There is a profound difference between biblical discernment and modern deconstruction. Discernment looks at the chaos of the world and tests it against the immovable rock of God’s Word to find the truth. Modern deconstruction questions the truth just so it can tear the rock down, leaving you with nothing to stand on but your own pride.

A mind that questions everything but never lands on an answer is a mind paralyzing itself. It is not brave to tear down a house; anyone with a sledgehammer can do that. It takes real courage to accept that there is absolute truth, that God wrote the rules, and that your highest calling is to submit to Him.

We are warned against being sheep to the world, but we are commanded to be sheep to the Good Shepherd. The world’s way leads to endless, exhausting doubt. His way leads to truth, and the truth is the only thing that actually sets you free.
