The Final Deception of "My Choice"

Darrell Eugene Harlow-Curtis

The ultimate idol of modern culture is autonomy. We have built an entire societal religion around the phrase, "My body, my choice." We are told that we are the sole masters of our own existence, and when the pain of life becomes unbearable, culture whispers a deadly lie: taking your own life is your right, your choice, and your final act of taking control.

But suicide is not an act of empowerment. It is the final, devastating deception of the enemy.

When the darkness is suffocating, suicide masquerades as mercy. It promises peace. But taking your own life does not end the pain; it simply transfers it, violently, to everyone who loves you. It is a spiritual and emotional theft that steals your future from your family and robs the world of the specific purpose God placed inside of you.

The core flaw in the "my choice" argument is the arrogant premise of ownership. You did not create yourself. You did not knit your own lungs together, you did not orchestrate your own heartbeat, and you did not pay the bloody ransom for your own soul. You do not own yourself. To destroy your own life is to vandalize the temple of the living God and throw His breath back in His face.

The enemy wants you to believe you are in control right up to the moment you execute his will with your own hands.

You are not a disposable accident, and your life is not yours to discard. God claims ownership of you not to enslave you, but to protect you from destroying yourself. When the darkness tells you to take your own life, remember who holds the deed to your soul. You were bought with an agonizing price. Surrender the illusion of control, put down the weapon, and let the Creator who owns you heal you.
