Women Raising Boys to Be Weak
The Cost of Protecting Sons from Strength
There is a quiet crisis destroying the next generation of men, and it is happening entirely inside the home. Under the guise of love and protection, too many mothers are raising their sons to be weak.
In a desperate attempt to shield their boys from pain, failure, or the harsh realities of the world, mothers are intervening where they should be stepping back. They fight their sons' battles, eliminate their consequences, and coddle them through every hardship. They treat natural masculine aggression—the drive to conquer, compete, and risk—as a behavioral flaw to be medicated or scolded out of them.
The result is devastating. We are producing a generation of passive, dependent men who are terrified of conflict, unable to lead, and completely unequipped to protect a family.
A mother’s instinct is to nurture, but a boy cannot become a man if he is never allowed to fail, bleed, or carry his own weight. Furthermore, we must confront a reality that modern culture despises: a woman cannot raise a boy to be masculine. Women are absolutely essential to the formation of a child’s soul, but it takes a godly man to raise a godly boy. True masculinity cannot be lectured into a son; it must be modeled. It is transferred through the discipline, correction, and lived example of a father who demonstrates strength under control.
The world does not need more soft, manageable boys who never leave the nest. It needs dangerous, disciplined men. It needs men who have the grit to stand in the gap, the strength to lead, and the resilience to weather the storm.
Mothers, you must stop trying to domesticate the warriors God placed in your care. Your job is not to keep them safe forever. And fathers, you must step in and take the reins, because you are the only ones who can show them how to carry the weight.
