Our Story
An exploration of faith, obedience, and truth that developed into a direct call to serve those in need.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Ministry History
The work began in April 2006, centered on bringing people to Christ, serving those in need, and encouraging Christian faith and discipleship.
“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
As this work grew and became clearer over the years, it was formally organized as Vaelerin Movement Ministries in November 2025.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
From Story to Movement
Vaelerin Movement Ministries takes its name from the Vaelerin Saga, but the ministry and the story are not the same thing.
The Saga is fiction. The Christian beliefs behind it are not.
The story gave me a place to wrestle with questions of faith, obedience, suffering, temptation, pride, courage, judgment, grace, and what it means to belong to God. Those questions were never meant to stay inside a novel.
“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life.”
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
The ministry is concerned with real people and real burdens: young people who need direction, families under pressure, veterans carrying what followed them home, and people trying to make sense of faith when life has become difficult.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
The Vaelerin Saga helped give the ministry its name and some of its language. Its purpose comes from somewhere else entirely.
Vaelerin Movement Ministries exists to bring the broken to Christ Jesus.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart.”
