Vaelerin Sports

STAND. RESIST. ENDURE.

Movement Belongs to Everyone.

Vaelerin Movement Ministries believes the opportunity to move, play, compete, grow, and belong should not be reserved for the strongest, wealthiest, youngest, or most able among us.

Some will come to compete. Some will come to recover. Some will come simply because they have spent too much of their lives watching everyone else participate.

We want to change that.

The Ministry of Movement

Sports Are Not Separate From Ministry

Sports are not a distraction from the work of Vaelerin Movement Ministries. They are one of the ways we serve people.

A child getting onto a field who has always been left out matters. A blind athlete being given a real opportunity to compete matters. A veteran discovering community again matters. An older adult who refuses to stop moving matters.

When we create spaces for healthy participation, people discover strength they did not know they had and a place where they know they belong.

No One Is Dispensable

"Those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable."

— 1 Corinthians 12:22

The body does not get to dismiss people because society assigns them less importance.

Vaelerin believes people should not be pushed to the edge because their body works differently, their family cannot afford participation, they are older, they are recovering, or they were simply never given an opportunity.

Every Child Plays

No child should be left standing outside the game. Every Child Plays works to identify and remove the financial, developmental, and circumstantial barriers that keep youth from participating in sports and healthy recreation.

Adaptive & Inclusive Sports

The game should change to include the person. We are developing meaningful athletic programming for people with physical, sensory, and developmental disabilities.

Current efforts include building access to blind soccer alongside mobility-adapted recreation and inclusive youth environments.

Future Infrastructure

Harlow-Curtis Field House

While Vaelerin Sports operates today through community partnerships, existing facilities, and outreach, we are actively supporting the vision of the proposed Harlow-Curtis Field House Athletic Institute.

HCFH is a proposed regional sports, health, rehabilitation, training, and community institution being developed for Upstate South Carolina. When built, it will provide the physical infrastructure capable of greatly expanding Vaelerin's adaptive, inclusive, and youth programming.
